Through a recent notice, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all medical colleges to mandatorily register with the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) and get the AISHE code.

The notification to this effect has been issued by the UG medical education board of the NMC.

Govt informs gap between 2nd dose, precaution dose of COVID vaccines reduced on NTAGI recommendation

Based on the recommendations made by the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI), the interval between the second and the precaution dose of COVID-19 vaccines was revised from nine months to six months for all beneficiaries aged 18 years and above from July 6, the government informed Parliament on Friday.

In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar said as on August 1, a total of 9.07 crore (13 per cent) precaution doses of the Covid vaccines were administered against the due beneficiarie.

NMC approves 2 new medical colleges in Gujarat

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has recently approved two new medical colleges in the state, one at Godhra in Panchmahal district and the other at Porbandar.

The inspection of the two colleges was carried out by the NMC on 29th July, following which they had issued the approval in less than a week.

Currently, there are 30 medical colleges in the state which includes private, government and grant-in-aid colleges, with total number of available medical seats amounting to 5,500.
