New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the DGHS has rescheduled the NEET PG 2022 counselling that was about to commence on September 1st. While this move could mean yet another snag on the NEET PG counselling process, the candidates will have more seats for grabs this academic session.

As per the notification issued to this effect by the MCC on its website, the AIQ counselling body has taken the decision considering that the National Medical Commission (NMC) is still in the process of issuing new Letters of Permission, LoP’s to the medical colleges for this academic year. Thus, the MCC has rescheduled the NEET PG counselling so more MD, MS or PG Diploma seats can be added to the seat matrix accordingly.

The revised schedule will be released later on the official website of the MCC.

The MCC notification states:

The Candidates of NEET-PG, 2022 are informed that the NEET-PG Counselling, 2022 was scheduled to commence from 01/09/2022. However, National Medical Commission (NMC) is in the process of issuing New LoPs for the current academic year and the same will be concluded till 15/09/2022. Hence, in order to include more seats in the counselling for the benefit of the candidates, it has been decided by the Competent Authority to re-schedule the NEET-PG Counselling, 2022 which was scheduled to commence from 01/09/2022.

The tentative schedule of NEET-PG Counselling, 2022 is being rescheduled. The candidates are advised to keep in touch with the MCC website for latest schedule.

Usually, NEET PG is held in January and the counselling starts in March. But because of COVID-19 and the delay in the last year’s admission process, this year’s exam was held on May 21 and the results were declared on June 1. In addition, inspections of medical colleges are being carried out by the NMC and LoPs are still being issued resulting in a delay in the counselling process.

MCC conducts counselling for 50% of All India Quota seats and state counselling authorities fill 50% of the state quota seats. The merit list will be released based on the cutoff percentile received in the NEET exam. Candidates whose names will be there on the merit list will be able to participate in the counselling rounds of NEET PG 2022.

A total of 4 rounds will be conducted for the admission process round 1, round 2, the mop-up round, and the stray vacancy round. The seat allotment is done based on choice filled, availability of seats, reservation criteria, and other factors.

The candidates will have to carry the following documents –

1. NEET PG 2022 admit card and results.

2. Mark Sheets of MBBS/BDS professional examinations.

3. MBBS/BDS Degree Certificate.

4. Completion certificate of internship.

5. Permanent or provisional registration certificate issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC).

6. Date of birth and valid ID proof.

7. Caste certificate (if applicable).

8. Disability Certificate (if applicable).
