An instance of “inhumane torture” and “ragging” has come up in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district as a complaint has been filed in this regard alleging ragging of a Junior Resident first year student of MS General Surgery at Shri Vasantrao Naik (SVN) Medical College by his seniors,

Writing to the Dean of the Medical College, the guardian of the PG medico has alleged that the third-year Junior resident doctors have been causing physical and mental torture to the first-year medico by several means.

NMC directs all medical colleges to implement Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Portal

Combinations of 45 medicines fixed, including sitagliptin- metformin, linagliptin -metformin combinations

Through a recent notice, The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India has fixed the retail prices of 45 formulations under Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 based on the decision of 100th Authority meeting dated 05.08.2022.

The said formulations include diabetes medications such as Pure & Cure Healthcare and Cadila Pharma’s Sitagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride (Sustained release) Tablets, Torrent Pharma’s Sitagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride (Sustained release) Tablets, Exemed Pharma and Cipla’s Sitagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride (Sustained release) Tablets, Bajaj Healthcare and J.B. Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals’s Sitagliptin Phosphate and Metformin Hydrochloride Tablets, MSN Labs and Eris Lifesciences’s Linagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride extended-release Tablet.

SGPGI slapped Rs 39 lakh compensation for negligence, faulty treatment of Late Padma Shri Awardee

Holding the Lucknow based Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) guilty for “negligence and faulty treatment” of eminent artist and Padma Shri awardee Prof Ranbir Singh Bisht, who died around 24 years ago, the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (SCDRC), Uttar Pradesh has directed the Institute to pay Rs 39 lakh compensation.

While considering the complaint by the daughter of the late Padma Shri awardee, the State Consumer Court of Uttar Pradesh has directed SGPGIMS to pay Rs 19 lakh, with interest at a rate of 10 per cent from September 25, 1998, as compensation for negligence and deficiency of service to the complainant.
